Beth Kander grew up in the small-town Midwest and spent more than a decade in the Deep South, always collecting stories. An award-winning playwright, her scripts are popular selections in the Stage Rights catalog. Beth has an MFA in Creative Writing from Mississippi University for Women and a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan, and believes her social work experiences shape her writing as much as her MFA. Her ghost story 13 Jericho Lane was a 2019 Pitch Wars selection, and she's excited to continue exploring "newish-Jewish folklore" in her next writing projects. She lives in Chicago with her family and their giant rescue dog, Oz (naming doggos after literary figures is a tradition she refuses to give up).
